After graduation in North Carolina and Munich and a career as film editor, Tobias N. Siebert studied production and media economics at the University for Television and Film Munich. Today he is with Eva Kemme partner and general manager at BASIS BERLIN, an independent production company and one of the leading post-production houses in Germany. He focuses on the development of high-quality international art-house fiction, feature documentaries and serial documentary formats, always looking for stories which can touch the audience. His films won more than 75 international awards including Sundance, Buenos Aires, San Francisco, Karlovy Vary or Vision du Réel, a DGA Award and an Oscar Nomination for Die Geschichte vom weinenden Kamel (2003) and multiple Nominations for the Asian Pacific-, the European- and the German Film Awards. For OF Of Fathers and Sons (2017) by Talal Derki he received an Academy Award Nomination for Best Documentary.
